1750 point Guard list

I am probably going to be heading down to Cork in January (funds and travel arrangements permitting) for Warpcon. Below is the list I will hopefully be taking (if I can get the Vendettas done in time) and have most of the models already, just need a few weapon swaps in some cases.

Anyway without further ado...the list...

Infantry Guard?

I've fancied doing an all infantry list for a while, and having completed my mech IG list, I thought its about time to give it a whirl, obviously the list isn't going to be super competitive but I'm looking for a little feedback as to anything I might have overlooked.

Sentry Guns

Sorry its been a while since the last post, I've been doing some home improvements :-) Now as I had some time on my hands while waiting for the plaster in my bedroom to dry I thought I'd do a bit of background fluff for my latest additions to my IG army, sentry guns. Pics will be available once I get the damn camera working...

Tanks, Tanks, Everywhere...

Well I think the title says it all, apparently after watching me construct 5 russes and 5 chimeras in the space of 6 hours in the local* GW I am now referred to by one of the new staff as "The Forgeworld"

Renegades HQ Breakdown

Hi all,

While I'm busy waiting for paint to dry I thought I'd do a quick analysis of the Forgeworld Renegades and Heretics update which can be downloaded for free here. This time I'll be starting with the HQ options and progressing onwards through the other choices at a later date.

Verratian 3rd Colour Scheme

Finally got round to finishing a model and taking the necessary photos, this will be the colour scheme for my new Imperial Guard Renegade army...

Moar Mareenz!!1!

Well it appears Forgeworld have been at it again, producing more SM toys, both a new varient of armour (well not actually new, but you know what I mean) and new Ferrox pattern bolters, which in my own humble opinion rock!

How To Convert A Renegade Guardsman

Hey all,

Today I'll be doing a 'How to' on how I converted my renegade Imperial Guard regiment, the Verratian 3rd Infantry, who worship Khorne.

I used the IA6 Servants of Slaughter list to plan out my force and to get the character and then transferred what I could across to the Imperial Guard codex, the reason for this was that I get to play the majority of my games at tournaments, which unfortunately do not support IA rules or lists.

How To Convert An Autogun

Hi all,

Today I'll be doing a quick 'How To' on how I produce the autoguns for my Servants of Slaughter list (more on that later). Its a relatively simple procedure that you should be able to reproduce in a few minutes, which is more important than you would think when you need to do 100 of them!

Chocolate Chip Desert Camo

Today I shall be providing a quick ‘how to’ on desert camouflage, specifically the ‘Chocolate Chip’ camouflage used by the United States Military during the Gulf War and in the early 1990s.

In this example I’ll be using one of my converted Guardsmen (without his arms or weapon) created by combining the Cadian and Catachan sprues but the general tips still apply

Ork Kommandos Sighted

Well it appears Forgeworld have been busy again, releasing a conversion kit for Ork Kommandos, that in my opinion look better than the current GW ones, but then again what Forge World products don't?

How To Convert A Squat Trike

Hi All,

Welcome to another installment of the Squat Revival here at Uplifting Primer, I'll be continuing with my squat conversion guides, this was supposed to be 'How to convert a Squat HWT but as the parts haven't arrived as of yet, I'm posting the article I was planning for the next update.

Now back in the days of Rogue Trader squats were famous for their Guild Heavy Weapon Trike Teams and their skid turns that enabled them to move, spin the bike round, fire the heavy weapon (with no penalty) and then continue to move. Sadly no one will let me use this rule yet, but I live in hope :)

I have, however a large number of bike wheels and the front mudguards for the wheels due to a number of conversions I recently did for jetbikes. This, it seems, was all the reason I needed to start assembling Squat trikes...

How To Convert A Squat

Hi all,

I've always been interested in the Rogue Trader edition of 40k (especially the fluff) and lament the loss of the Squats. For those of you who don't know, they were small, angry and bearded, (so pretty much the Scots in space) and had the technical knowledge that made the Imperium of Man look like a bunch of idiots who can't operate a remote for the TV yet alone an iPhone. Sadly GW have got rid of the Squats, retconning the fluff to state they were devoured by the Tyranids (like a deep-fried Mars bar), but they still have a strong, underground, following (sorry couldn't resist!) on the interwebs.

So for my first article I decided I would do a conversion piece (god knows I'm not a painter) on how to convert a Squat from (predominantly) GW bits...
