No more bouncing wounds around the unit.

Flying MCs lose hard to hit. Makes sense and everyone has been playing this way anyway.

Zooming flyers moving at cruising speed move between 18.1 and 36 inches. again the only sensible way to play it.

Paladins, Wolf Guard, Nobs and Crisis Shas'vre are only characters when leading a squad. Big hit there to wound allocation as well.

Weapons that hit automatically still do so even if fired as a snap shot.

Death rays cannot hit fliers. big hit to the necron flyer wing.

Ignores armour saves means exactly that, boneswords, Tycho and Straken get a boost.

No overflow of wounds to the squad if you crush a character in close combat.

Fliers move at the exact speed in inches they did in the previous turn if they suffer from locked velocity.

Aegis Lines must be deployed as a continuous chain.

IG FAQ

Grav chute insertion has been fixed to work in the movement phase.

Commissars will no longer shoot Calgar, only the highest Ld IG model.

Leman Russ' are heavy vehicles. Very slow now. The Ordance rules will override the rules for firing weapons while counting as stationary so I don't see too much of a benefit from this.

Allied ICs cannot use their Ld to pass an order, or gain any benefit from it.

Overall it makes sense, I haven't read through any of the others yet, but it looks promising.ItsPughttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02684926353433901589noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4472261966551059410.post-33162849212923100152012-05-29T18:50:00.000+01:002012-05-29T18:50:19.736+01:00Raptors Scout Squad

So for this month's Heresy Online Painting Challenge I decided to do a 5 man squad of scouts.

I used some spare IG backpacks to bulk out the model and 5 heavy bolter tripods as well as a couple of green rods from some necrons to create a heavier looking weapon, capable of being either a bolter or sniper rifle.

Here's a before picture...
As part of the Heresy Online Army Painting Challenge I have decided to do a Raptors Space Marine Army.

First up, for my March entry is a Drop Pod.

From Start...

To Finish...

I've actually done more than just the Drop Pod as I need to have a 1850 point list for the end of the month for a tournament, but this one has had the transfers applied so it gets the limelight this month.ItsPughttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02684926353433901589noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4472261966551059410.post-29600611697011190352012-02-22T14:14:00.000+00:002012-02-22T14:15:05.231+00:00K-Con 2012 - Game 2

On to game 2, having (barely) beaten Jan in my first game I was up against Barry Hickey and his Space Wolves in a Dawn of War/Annihilation game.

My list can be found here for reference.

Barry's list was something along the lines of

Lord on Thunderwolf with frost blade
Rune Priest
Wolf Scouts
3 Wolf Guard
Grey hunters in a Rhino
Blood Claws in a Las/Plas Razorback.
5 Wolves
Longfang Squad with missile launchers.

Barry won the roll off and elected to deploy his Rune Priest and Grey Hunters in the Rhino as far forward as possible on my right hand side, with everything else, bar the scouts, rolling on first turn.

I deployed my Tactical squad and the Razorback behind and beside some ruins on my right hand side. I also manage to get both of my infantry squads to roll 1's on their red thirst check.

Turn 1 - Barry

Barry rolls on his long fangs behind the ruin in his deployment zone and proceeds to run them up to the second level, his razorback with the blood claws moves on beside them and his wolf lord, accompanied by the doggies, heads straight down the middle. His rune priest or razorback (i forget which) blow up my razorback before it gets a chance to move.

Turn 1 - Me

My dreadnought and drop pod come down next to his long fangs and my predator drives over the crater my razorback used to occupy. The Tactical squad fluffs against the Rune Priests rhino and the predator stuns the razorback. The dreadnought opens up on the Long Fangs and wipes out all but 2

Turn 2 - Barry

The doggy squad moves towards my tactical squad and looking at it I now realise he might be in charge range - oops. The lord seperates from the squad in anticipation of the charge. The rest of his shooting is ineffective and its on to the assault phase. The Lord rolls a 6 for his move through cover and barrels into the tactical squad killing 4 in the first turn for no loss.

Turn 2 - Me

My Assault Squad turns up and kills the Rune Priests rhino, the dreadnought moves towards the long fangs and kills one by shooting before assaulting the survivor, who doesn't survive much longer, the predator does no damage to the razorback and the wolf lord continues to chew through my tactical squad.

Turn 3 - Barry

Barry gets his wolf scouts on, which he deploys near the dreadnought by his own table edge, he also seperates the Rune Priest from the grey hunters and joins him to the dog squad about 8 inches away from my assault squad, the grey hunters open fire and thanks to me passing my shield power on a double 1 do little damage, I block his Rune Priest from casting murderous hurricane and Barry's scouts blow the DCCW off my dreadnought before charging in but neither side does damage, his wolf lord almost finishes munching the second half of the tactical squad I know it won't be much longer now.

Turn 3 - Me

Not much movement for me this time, my assault squad moves to setup a multi-charge against the runepriest in the dog squad and the dismounted grey hunters. The Predator does no damage against the razorback and the drop pod fires its storm bolter at the grey hunters doing no damage. The bolt pistols fired in the shooting phase and the ensuing assault in the assault phase sees me kill the runepriest with my librarians strength 10 attacks as well as doing a number on the remainder of the squads, wiping out the dogs but leaving some of the grey hunters to strike back, I lost alot of the assault marines but won combat. The dreadnought and scouts continue to slap away at each other and I kill one but they hold.

Turn 4 - Barry

Barrys units are almost all in combat, he fires the razorback at my predator but does no damage. The Wolf Lord finishes off the tactical squad and consolidates towards my assault squad, who finish off the last of the grey hunters.

Turn 4 - Me

The Predator fluffs against the razorback again and the assault squad (now much dimished - maybe 3 or 4 guys) charges home against the wolf lord, who dies to a force weapon attack, but not before he decimates the rest of the squad leaving the librarian alone. I consolidate towards the fight between the dreadnought and the scouts

Turn 5 - Barry

Barry disembarks his blood claws and shoots at the drop pod causeing no damage, following this up by charging in. The razorback tries to kill the wounded librarian who manages to pass his cover saves.

Turn 5 - Me

Thanks to some bad maths (I forgot about the dog squad - I thought they were wargear) I think I'm on even KPs - I am actually one ahead, I weigh up my options and charge the wolf scouts to get the KP I need to win (risking in my mind the KP that will ensure a loss) with the librarian and between the dreadnought and librarian kill them for no loss.

I now add up the KPs to find out I risked getting a draw for no real gain but got away with it.

Now I'd like to point out again that this is my best recollection, if something is wrong (ie I killed the wolf lord in Barry's turn 4 as opposed to mine) I apologise and blame the lack of sleep and the alcohol lol!
A one day, 5 battle, 1000 point, highlander format, tournament to be precise.

My first battle was against the current best player in Ireland - Jan Karnowski, and his Orks.

Now I would just like to preface this, and the other battle reports I'll be writing shortly, by saying that I forgot to take notes or photos, and when I did get back home late last night I went out on the town for a 'few' drinks. So please excuse any errors.

For reference, my list was as follows...

Librarian - Jump Pack, Powers: Sword and Shield
Sanguinary Priest - Jump Pack
Furioso Dreadnought - Heavy Flamer, Frag Cannon, Drop Pod
Tactical Squad - Missile Launcher, Meltagun, Razorback with TL Heavy Flamer
Assault Squad - 2 Meltaguns, Power Weapon
Landspeeder - Multi-melta, Heavy Flamer
Predator - Heavy Bolter Sponsons

Jans list was what I would describe as a "Not so smart, smart missile"
Grotsnik
Bigmek, SAG, ammo runt, bosspole
14 lootas
30 boyz, cybork body, PK nob, bosspole
10 grots, runtherd
Rokkitbuggie
3 kannons, 3 re-rolls, runtherd, 1 additional krew

Mission is Spearhead deployment with 3 objectives - one in the centre of the table and one in the centre of each table quarter not beind used as a deployment zone.

Deployment

I win the roll off and choose my table edge and choosing my deployment zone the be the left side quarter (as I look at it), setting up half of my combat squad (the half with the missile launcher) in cover near the rear of my quarter, the razorback containing the other half is slightly to the right and infront of them, the predator is then at the rightmost edge of my deployment zone

Jan sets up his lootas in the rear along his board edge in two well spaced lines with the SAG Mek attached, with Grotsniks mob in front and the gretchin between the two, the cannons setup in a building on his left flank. The buggy is in reserve.

My Turn 1

My drop pod comes in , but due to Jans impressive bubble wrapping must deploy in front of Grotsniks mob and target them - the frag cannon and heavy flamer account for a number of orks and a few gretchin who were too close. The Razorback zooms forward using a hill as cover. the predator and missile launcher combat squad open up on the cannons but do little damage to the squad and none to the cannons themselves.

Jan Turn 1

Jan's lootas open fire on the dreadnought but do no damage, his cannons open up on the predator and shake it and then his "smart missile" squad charge the dreadnought and drop pod, grotsnik is too far away to make it into base to base contact but the nob manages it, as none of the boys can damage the dreadnought it becomes a bit of a contest between the dreadnought and nob, the dreadnought inflicts no casualties and the nob immobilises the dreadnought. After pile in moves grotsnik is now in base to base with the drop pod.

My Turn 2

Both the Land speeder and Assault squad turn up, the land speeder deploys near Jan's grots and the assault squad scatters a few inches into a position right in front of the cannons, but conveniently out of sight of the SAG Mek. The Razorback moves around to just behind the land speeder and pops smoke, the predator moves to a better position to gain a cover save against the cannons.

The assault squad open fire on the cannon unit and both meltagun hits and about 90% of the bolt pistol shots end up being allocated against the grots. The Land speeder flames the gretchin squad accounting for about 5 and the missile launcher fires at the same target but scatters into the lootas doing a single casualty. My dreadnought misses with his attacks, Grotsnik attacks the drop pod with his claw, expolding it and killing a number of boys in the process, and the nob fluffs against the dreadnought. Fearless wounds inflict a further few casualties against the squad and Grotsnik is now forced to pile into base to base with the dreadnought.

Jan's Turn 2

The buggy fails to arrive. The cannons shoot at the razorback and blow off its heavy flamer, the lootas fail to damage it (they might have shook it etc - but no permanent damage), but the SAG gun misses and ends up scattering on to the land speeder, blowing it up and taking all but the Runtherd of the gretchin squad with it.

In combat my dreadnought allocates his single attack against grotsnik and finally kills something, the nob stuns the dreadnought but as I'm already immobilised and reduced to one attack anyway it doesn't affect things.

My turn 3

The Razorback moves up and disembarks the combat squad next to the lootas, the assault squad move into position to be able to assault any of the three squads that remain combat effective (lootas, cannons and the boyz mob) the missile launcher combat squad decides to move towards an uncontested objective but rolls a 2 for movement and a 1 for running.

The combat squad do a couple of wounds against the lootas who hold firm but it now looks like my assault squad will not be able to multi-assault them, my predator fires on the cannons and does little to no damage.

This is where I believe I made my first major mistake - To multi-charge the cannons and the boyz squad I'll need to take a difficult terrain test as the cannons are in area terrain. I choose not to for fear of failing to make contact with any unit - especially under the guns of the lootas. I charge into just the boys and do a serious number on the squad, after attacks have been completed they are sitting at 12 guys and fail a further 6 or so armour saves due to fearless.

Jan's Turn 3

Jan's buggy turns up and comes on behind my razorback to line up a shot at rear armour but misses. His lootas and SAG Mek move forwards to engage the combat squad in CC, his cannons fire at the predator but no damage is sustained, and his runtherd moves into cover

In close combat the lootas annihilate the combat squad and use their consolidation move to spread out. The assault squad and dreadnought finish of his boys squad and I use my consolidation move to move towards the last scoring model Jan has - If I can kill it I'm almost assure of a draw.

My Turn 4

The turn of my major mistake that cost me victory.

My razorback is now weaponless so I declare a ram against the artillery unit, specifically the gun model that I can see, as I'm too close to Jan's buggy to do any damage with a ram. After lining up the ram we notice that I will come into contact with an infantry model from the unit and this causes a bit of confusion - Does it still count as a ram, or as a tank shock or both? Its the same unit after all. In the end the judge declared it to be both, but as Jan passed both the morale test and I failed to do damage with the ram it was a bit of a moot point.

I have a choice with my assault squad now - I can shoot at the lone runtherd, or the buggy, but both will leave me under the guns of the lootas and away from the objective, or as I decided to do I can assault the runtherd, kill him and use the consolidation move to get onto the objective, and use the predator to kill the buggy, which missed or failed to do damage.

What I should have done is seperate the librarian from the squad and use it to kill the buggy with its strength 10 attacks and had the assault squad rush the runtherd and the objective while leaving a tail towards the librarian to gain the use of his Shield power.

Instead the runtherd was killed and I was left on top of the hill, in full view of Jan's unit of lootas.

Jan's Turn 4

Jan moved the buggy backwards and opened fire with the cannon and lootas - I managed to make a lot of 5 up cover saves from the SAG (thank heavens for Shield) and didn't even have to take a morale check

My Turn 5

I move my unit from the hill and get them into cover behind it, the predator needs to stop the buggy - either destroy it or stop it from moving and a two on the damage chart appears to have done this for me - until Jan points out that its open topped and I've just blown off its weapon.

Jan's Turn 5

Jan moves his buggy in to contest the objective to draw the game.

Result 11-9 to me due to VP difference.

Things I should have done differently...

- I forgot about the missile launcher combat squad until it was too late to make a run for an objective. I need to stop at the start of a turn and plan it out more - I didn't have as many scoring units as I'm used to.

- Frag cannon is rending - not that it would have made much difference but it might have denied Jan a couple of FNP saves.

- Furiosos are WS6 so I should have been hitting Jan on a 3+ not a 4+, ah well, again very little difference.

- Even in turn 5 I could have seperated the librarian and killed the buggy, but again I'm not used to playing with ICs and it never occured to me to do so.ItsPughttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02684926353433901589noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4472261966551059410.post-43425181803785884672012-02-10T23:57:00.008+00:002012-02-11T00:29:10.278+00:00Forge World Updates! So I've got my stuff packed for tomorrow's trip to Dublin for K-Con, double checked and triple checked that I've got everything, so I can be reasonably sure I've forgotten something obvious.

I decided to check my e-mails and got the Forge World newsletter and saw that they have produced an update for the D-99 list in IA 4. A very characterful list that was however showing its age.

To be honest I'm a little disappointed with the result, its basically the Elysian list with a lot of options taken out and a 20 point tax on every infantry unit for +1 initiative, stubborn and preferred enemy Tyranids, on top of the 5/10 point tax for deep strike you're already paying.

As far as I'm concerned there's a few problems with the Elysian list anyway, mainly having to pay for 5/10 points per squad for Deep Strike, with the limits on heavy weapons enforced by the list already being the balancing factor there's no real need to charge over the odds for this. Its not like its risk free at the best of times (especially if you roll like I do).

To put a 20 point increase on top of every single infantry squad (whether 5 or 10 men) is a joke. 2 of these benefits help in combat and the third helps in combat with Tyranids, all are a losing proposition for the guard. Vets have lots of special weapons and BS4 they should not be in combat.

To sum it up...

No extra extra special weapons for the command squads, you're still limited to one per squad.

No BS4 special weapon squads despite paying 60 points prior to buying weapons

100 point veteran squads - before upgrades.

No longer count as pinned instead of falling back

35 point sentry guns when they used to be 15

No variable squad strengths

Not what I was hoping for at all...

ItsPughttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02684926353433901589noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4472261966551059410.post-24929791083007032052012-01-28T17:27:00.005+00:002012-01-28T18:25:01.002+00:00Raptors Predator DestructorSo having decided upon a list and built the units I'll need I now have a little under 2 weeks to get everything painted to at least a three colour minimum to take part in K-Con.

Now this is the part where things get interesting. I could paint the models to a quick 3 colour minimum and get in some practice games or I could go to town on the models and do a really good job and no doubt get my arse handed to me by all and sundry. Guess which I've picked...

As if it was ever in doubt? The model has had the transfers applied to the model before the wash and weathering will begin to make them look more realistic.

As a side note, just before taking these pictures I managed to break off the hunter killer missile from the side of the turret, this will be fixed back on later, I'm probably going to have to pin it or something...

Thanks for reading...ItsPughttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02684926353433901589noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4472261966551059410.post-42882080028619817782011-12-22T19:13:00.003+00:002011-12-22T19:20:12.807+00:00WIP - Enclosed MedusaI've spent the last few weeks building the chassis for a 6x6 light armoured vehicle. Its not just 'Random Guardsman 67' , its Rifleman Jenkins, who took out the eldar grav tank with his meltagun before it could dismount its troops onto Hill 370 in the Battle of Huang Ji, and who killed the Tau commander in the penulitimate battle of the Freema Campaign. I'm giving myself a little break of about 30 minutes or so to get up and walk around and actually do something besides stare at little models.

I've cracked open a couple of redbulls so far as I am starting to get a little tired and at the same time a little restless and its impacting upon my concentration. I'll probably head to the local 24 hour garage soon, as i hope the cold air and/or junk food will perk me up.

I've messed around a bit putting names on the bases of some of the squad and a rank marking for the sergeant, so as to differenciate him from the rank and file as he is carrying a rifle instead of the laspistol and CCW he is supposed to have.

ItsPughttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02684926353433901589noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4472261966551059410.post-6601151163270259102011-12-10T20:12:00.000+00:002011-12-10T20:12:00.527+00:0024 Hour Painting Challenge - 3 hours inJust a quick update. After 3 hours, I've completed all the bases and conversions I need and have started on the painting. I'm doing the models in batches of 5 as that seems to be a reasonable number to do, allowing time for the paint to dry, but without getting bored of painting the same parts over an over again on the models.

I have (almost) completed the first five models, they just need the metal of the guns done, a wash with badab black and shading for the facial features before I add the camo paint. Instead of dropping out completely I've decided to do the challenge from the comfort of my own home.

In this case I've decided to paint three squads of melta armed veterans as a minimum target. I have 10 of these built as of now with the parts for the other 20 infront of me.

As you'll see from some of the pictures of the unpainted models (if and when I take them) I've recently stripped them from their original colour scheme. They were the first fully painted army I completed and I managed to do them in about 2-3 months. I was terribly impressed with them originally but 2 years later and I couldn't stand the sight of them when I now know I can do so much better.

Anyway, its 4.58, so I'm going to leave it another 2 minutes and start at 5.00 exactly, and I'll update about every other hour or so (but I make no promises lol!) or probably a better way would be to do an update as I finish each batch of 5 models, building, painting etc, rather than doing my updates in an arbitrary fashion.

Of course whichever plan I choose I probably won't stick to it anyway!ItsPughttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02684926353433901589noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4472261966551059410.post-88486931140445721732011-12-04T01:24:00.005+00:002011-12-08T20:29:27.025+00:00M119 But no one ever has enough.

The following is a conversion that uses spare parts from my previous conversions and my bitz box in order to maximise the melta goodness I can field without resorting to paying £1.50 per meltagun.

I've promised a couple of people I'd put this up but every day-off I've had, when I have tried to take the photos its raining, so excuse the bad pictures.

First, this is a picture of the parts we will need,

The arms from an imperial guardsman (the set with the left hand separate from the gun)

A multimelta (shown here is one from a leman russ)

The right arm from a necron warrior and the weapon bits

Next we prepare the parts, the lasgun is removed from the guardman's arm, keeping as much of the stock as possible.

The ends of the multimelta are cut off and separated with a knife and rounded with a file and sand paper.

The Necron arm is cut down to basically just the chamber of the weapon. removing the cup that holds the plastic rod from both parts

Finally glue it all together, now in this photo I have forgotten to remove the little plastic nub on the back of the weapon but a quick snip of the clippers has since sorted that problem.

Also when putting this onto a guardsman you may need to file down the reverse side of the weapons vents in order to fit it snugly across the chest.ItsPughttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02684926353433901589noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4472261966551059410.post-22752572362094163382011-11-10T16:48:00.003+00:002011-11-10T16:50:15.247+00:003rd Salopian Airborne Rangers - Part 3Part 3 of this series is all about the paint scheme I've chosen. I wanted somthing realistic but quick to paint. These photos are of one of my veterans I converted last week, the weapons they're carring have been made into carbines similiar in style to my autoguns, and as you can see from the pictures below I've removed the shoulder pads from the arms to give them a lighter armoured, more modern, look.

It was originally my intention to paint the army in a desert camouflage scheme but after much thought, I decided to adopt a temperate DPM style for the fatigues.

This is my test model for the scheme. It took around 30 minutes (not including drying times) to paint, but with an assembly style production (and practice) I should be able to get this down to about 20 minutes which would be the ideal for painting 60 models for the Arkham Iron Painter eventItsPughttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02684926353433901589noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4472261966551059410.post-19416581929979787012011-11-03T22:45:00.001+00:002011-11-03T22:46:23.251+00:003rd Salopian Airborne Rangers - Part 2First up on the list of things to do is to work out what I want and more importantly, what I need. As this is going to be a more themed list than my usual lists I may not always be selecting the most competitive of choices but I'm sure you'll forgive me, right?

Now my idea of flak armour has always been that it is a cloth based armour - the second edition wargear book lists is as "different layers of ablative and impact absorbent materials" which always gave me the impression that it was a cloth like material similiar to kevlar. The Cadian models however have "large rigid plates" of "ceramite molded to fit parts of the body" which is the description of carapace armour from the same book. Although I've removed the shoulder pads from the models I've left the chest piece and intend to claim that this is carapace armour over flak armour fatigues (no in game effect though).

Now the very first selection we need to make is the HQ, a Company Command Squad is the ideal option, lots of special weapons, the option to take advisers, the ability to issue orders, and completely expendable, er i mean "leads from the front".

We'll take one, max out on the special weapons with 4 melta guns and take an astropath for the reserve/ outflank bonuses. This unit comes in at 120 points.

Next up we need troops. When your troops are T3 5+sv models you're going to need a lot of troops, but we also need to balance this with our limited transport options.

We'll start by taking 5 squads of veterans, each has (the almost obligatary) 3 melta guns, and nothing else. 100 points each, brings the total to 620 points

Next we need the actual airborne part of the list. We currently have 6 squads so we'll take 6 Vendettas (and lose all our friends no doubt) in 3 squadrons of 2. Upgrading the Vendetta to carry 2 heavy bolters for 10 points is a steal and adds much needed anti-infantry fire to the list. Coming in at 140 points each, 6 takes the total to 1460 points

290 points to spend to shore up our weaknesses. The one major weakness I see is long range anti-vehicle fire, only 3 units can fire past 12 inches and they aren't all that survivable. We need some autocannons - enter the hydra, now we are 10 points short of taking 2 squadrons of two of these so we'll go back to the company command squad and remove 2 meltaguns and replace them with 2 flamers for some moping up capability against any dismounted infantry.

Now while the Hydra doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the list it can be represented as a light armoured vehicle with anti-air capabilities (and I already have a conversion in mind ;-))

Our list therefore is

Company Command Squad (110)
- 2x Melta gun, 2x Flamer, Astropath

Veteran Squad (100)
- 3x Melta gun

Veteran Squad (100)
- 3x Melta gun

Veteran Squad (100)
- 3x Melta gun

Veteran Squad (100)
- 3x Melta gun

Veteran Squad (100)
- 3x Melta gun

Vendetta Squadron (280)
- 2x Vendetta with Heavy Bolters

Vendetta Squadron (280)
- 2x Vendetta with Heavy Bolters

Vendetta Squadron (280)
- 2x Vendetta with Heavy Bolters

Hydra Squadron (150)
- 2x Hydra

Hydra Squadron (150)
- 2x Hydra

I'll start playtesting it soon and it may receive a few tweaks before its finished.

Comments and Criticism is welcome as alwaysItsPughttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02684926353433901589noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4472261966551059410.post-39974438793761203082011-11-02T23:00:00.000+00:002011-11-02T23:00:03.351+00:003rd Salopian Airborne Rangers - Part 1Having finished my course for the next few months, and with the upcoming Arkham Iron Painter event, I've decided to start another IG army (yes another one!).

I sat down to work out a competitive list but still take the models I wanted to include and have a good theme. I already have a foot IG list, a list consisting of mechanised platoons with support, mechanised vets with support and a tank company. I love the Valkyrie model, but hate painting it. So naturally I decided to do an airborne list.

Over the past week I've been assembling a valkyrie and have done a bit of work to it to enable the option to take multiple hard-points though the use of magnets. This will enable me to take any of the options available to the valkyrie or vendetta. The first is pretty much finished and I'll have photos up once the weather clears up and I can get outside. The second is, as of today, barely out of the box.

I have started work on the infantry and have 10 veterans built and waiting undercoating and have all the parts I need to create all the infantry I'll need in a 1750 point list. Legs and bodies have been cleaned and assembled but the arms are taking a while (due in part to the fact that I'm stripping the shoulderpads from the models).

I plan to spread this out over a couple of posts with each unit having a post to itself as and when built. As I intend to paint these models at the Iron Painter event they will, sadly, be lacking more than an undercoat or basecoat until after the event (at which point I'll update each post with the finished photos)ItsPughttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02684926353433901589noreply@blogger.com0
